Style, Glamour and All that’s in Vogue at Hong Kong’s Spring Summer Fashion Week 2011
With its 18th edition set to kick off in a matter of months it would be an understatement to state that the Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer is one of the world’s biggest fashion events. Due to take place from the 4th to 7th July, the 2011 instalment of this annual fashion melee is also the most anticipated fashion fair in the Hong Kong Fashion industry. Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in collaboration with Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association, Hong Kong Garment Manufacturers Association, and Hong Kong Knitwear Exporters & Manufacturers, the Knitwear Innovation & Design Society, the Textile Council of Hong Kong and a host of other sponsors, this year’s fashion week will take place in Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.
The 2010 instalment of the fair attracted a whopping 23,000 buyers from 89 nations around the world to the shores of Hong Kong in an exciting display that saw 1300 exhibitors take centre stage. Often described as the best opportunity to engage and source designer collections, raw materials, accessories and completed garments, the four day event is a highlight in Asia’s booming fashion events calendar.
Divided in to special zones, the 2010 edition consisted of a Brand Name Gallery, Fashion Gallery, International Fashion Designers’ Showcase, Bridal & Evening Wear exhibit, Garment Mart, Trade Services, Infant & Children’s Wear and an Intimate Wear product region in addition to a World of Fashion Accessories showcase, Sewing Supplies and Fabrics & Yarn displays.
This year’s Fashion Week will feature sportswear, swimwear, eyewear, handbags, shoes, testing /, inspection / certification services, a fashion magazines exhibit and a Denim Arcade while labels, buttons and fabric suppliers will also take pride of place among the highlights.
Special seminars and fashion shows will also be conducted during the fair for the benefit of buyers and visitors. The Gifts, Houseware & Toys Show at Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2011 will also be featured concurrently as in previous editions of the fair.
